The Freeze Dry Guy has a policy in life and in business. When you have something to say, tell it to me straight. And so that is exactly what we are doing for you with news of an AquaPail recall.
The company has announced a product recall. We’re sharing the details because we sell AquaPail products on the Freeze Dry Guy website. The recall is for the items listed above. It applies only to models manufactured and sold between November 16, 2012 and May 15, 2013.
It specifically pertains to only those few products which have a stainless steel screen in the bottom of the pail.
It is not toxic. It won’t hurt you.
The reason these products are being recalled is because of the filtration media. Because we sell AquaPail products and care about our customers, and we know you want to know information, Freeze Dry Guy contacted AquaPail for a detailed explanation.
We now know this AquaPail recall is not a typical product recall. “People should understand, this is not a mandatory EPA or FDA recall,” said Dennis Clements, AquaPail Vice-President of Sales. “There have been no customer issues or complaints. This product recall came about because we are developing a new bottle and straw. In doing internal testing for this product, the results we got didn’t come back right for what we call the kill zone or deactivation zone. It just didn’t meet the high standards we have as a company.”
AquaPail suggests consumers stop using the product. The filtration media is non-hazardous so it can be dumped in a trash or recycling receptacle.
Freeze Dry Guy will be contacting customers who purchased these specific models of AquaPail products in order to help you be eligible to receive a free replacement product through this recall. Because of AquaPail recall, they will provide a free replacement of the same model you purchased. They will also pay for the shipping charges for all replacement units.
All claims for replacement products related to this AquaPail recall must be received by AquaPail no later than August 31, 2013. If you have any further questions, you can call AquaPail at (830) 688-1952 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Central time.
Freeze Dry Guy still believes in AquaPail filters and AquaPail as a company. We still have confidence in their products. All AquaPail water treatment systems care produced and assembled in the USA. We are comfortable this product recall is based solely on products simply not meeting their manufacturer’s quality standards for filtration performance. This action supports why AquaPail prides itself as being the safest, fastest, and most reliable portable water treatment system in the world.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
